DIY Overflow Standpipes

 

    I had 2 siphon overflows that were pretty loud and in need of some silencing. A standard Durso standpipe wouldn't fit in the outer overflow compartment of either overflows along with the U-tubes. Something had to be done about this gurgling sound so I just cut down the fittings so it would fit.

This is a diagram showing a Durso Standpipe and a Stockman Aqua-Silencer.

Stockman Aqua-Silencer:

   

Works just like the Durso, but can be more convenient to use depending on the overflow design.
